While conducting legal research at Hooters one fine day at Fisherman's Wharf, San Francisco, it suddenly struck me that all of the waitresses were...girls, or young women. The uniforms wasted no material, and the ladies certainly filled them out.
When is my waiter coming, I wondered. Why are there no waiters? Maybe I could get a job as a waiter if the law professor gig doesn't work out. Do they hire men? It sure didn't seem so.
Can a national chain of restaurants hire only women? As Hooters Girls?
I wondered about that. My students didn't have the answer, either. So today my research has brought me to the Hooters web site in which this very question is discussed, below.
It seemed particularly apt to note the comparison ot Justice Ginsburg to a Hooters Girl. They should both feel complimented, I guess.
Oh, well, it's about time for a burger and a beer.
